Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for online educational initiatives, training and technical assistance development and delivery, technology platforms used to deliver training and technical assistance, materials and resources, continuing education accreditation and communications with other teams within The Fenway Institute (TFI) and Fenway Health (FH). The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Deputy Director of Education and Training Programs for programmatic design and content-related aspects of the position.


Project Description:

The National LGBTQIA+ Health Education Center is part of the Division of Education and Training at The Fenway Institute, Fenway Health. The Education Center provides training and technical assistance (T/TA) in the form of educational programs, resources and consultation to health care organizations with the goal of optimizing quality, cost-effective health care to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and all sexual and gender minority (LGBTQIA+) people.

This position is grant funded through June 30, 2023.

Representative Duties:

  • Coordinates Training Programs
  • Develops and maintains relationships with health center staff.
  • Works with Program Manager and Director to create training content for individualized trainings for each partner organization.
  • Works to create and implement readiness assessments of organizations and to evaluate results and present to organizations.
  • Coordinates logistics of virtual and in-person training sessions.
  • Manages post-training evaluation collection and reporting process.
  • Coordinates the promotion of and recruitment for training initiatives.
  • Ensures all deadlines are met in a timely manner.
  • Develops, Writes, and Edits Publications, Reports, and Training Materials
  • Collaborates with program staff and faculty to write and edit a variety of written materials, including grant applications and reports to funders.
  • Collaborates with team members to develop and make available toolkits, issue briefs and other online and print materials for training and technical assistance activities.
  • Oversees the timely completion of written materials.
  • Maintains Software and Applications Platforms
  • Identifies, implements and maintains the software and applications used by the Ed Center to deliver training and education, collect and distribute information, communicate with constituents, and manage day-to-day activities.
  • In collaboration with other team members, develops and uploads content to the appropriate websites, applications, and social media sites.
  • Works with funders and constituent organizations to deliver training and technical assistance materials as needed.
  • Manages Continuing Education Accreditation
  • Ensures that accreditation is maintained with the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and other organizations as necessary.
  • Oversees the documentation of CME programs.
  • Develops and Presents Trainings to Health Care Organizations
  • Helps to develop PowerPoint presentations on LGBTQIA+ health topics.
  • Delivers trainings on LGBTQIA+ health topics to health care organizations as needed.
  • Meets Agency Participatory Expectations
  • Adheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Participates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requested.
  • Adheres to established safety policies, procedures and precautions.
  • Attends all required meetings, in-services and professional trainings.
  • Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintain and provide agency with records of continuing education activities.
  • Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested.
  • Maintains own professional growth
  • Enhances current knowledge of LGBTQIA+ health research by reading medical journals, articles and other LGBTQIA+ related publications, attending conferences, seminars, forums, trainings and other available presentations.
  • Performs other related duties as required




  • Minimum of three years of related work experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and editing
  • LGBTQIA+ identified persons, and persons of color are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • Demonstrated competency with PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Survey Monkey experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and follow through on projects in a timely fashion
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize assigned duties
  • Ability to work independently and in small groups
  • Knowledge of and sensitivity to diverse communities, particularly communities of color and LGBTQIA+ communities
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Experience working with an ethnically, culturally, and racially diverse work staff preferred
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals required
