Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Pharmacy provides strategic direction, business plan development, quality oversight, planning, organization, and general management for all aspects of Pharmacy across Fenway Health. The VP of Pharmacy drives operational performance of the pharmacy to ensure highest quality and optimal efficiency in pharmaceutical care delivery, service, and financial health. 

Representative Duties:

  1. Strategic direction, business plan development, quality oversight, planning, organization, and general management of Pharmacy services across the organization.
  • Lead strategic discussions to ensure operational efficiency, revenue optimization, expense management and clinical efficiency
  • Develops, aligns, and executes overall pharmacy strategy and initiatives to drive an integrated end-to-end pharmacy experience and overall clinical and growth strategy.
  • Deliver profitable growth objectives
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures to improve patient experience including but not limited to operational and service improvements, convenient hours or operation, home delivery, medication synchronization and adherence packaging.
  • Oversee and develop processes to improve financial and operating performance of the pharmacies, including IT systems and operational processes, cost purchasing, drug inventory management, and supply chain management
  • Promote program development and advise on the planning and expansion of services to drive support and alignment with the strategic plan
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy–related laws, regulations, rules, and licensing standards 
  • Ensure quality care in a safe, convenient, timely, and efficient manner by supporting the design and implementation of quality and safety initiatives
  • Develops, manages, and monitors budgets for pharmaceutical services across the organization
  • Represents pharmaceutical services to patients, the public, governing bodies, and others as deemed necessary
  • Provides oversight and guidance for management of pharmacy workforce, including providing opportunities for staff development and training

  • Attends all required meetings, in-services, and professional trainings
  • Maintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activities
  • Serves on agency committees and in professional organizations when requested

3. Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Valid license as a Registered Pharmacist issued by the Massachusetts State Board of Pharmacy within 3 months of hire
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • 10+ years of broad pharmacy leadership-level operational experience, with comprehensive knowledge of strategic planning tools and techniques utilized for delivering growth strategy. 
  • 10+ years supervising licensed Pharmacists in a health care system within the last five (5) years
  • Expertise in 340B program regulations and compliance
