Sales Operations Specialist

As part of Mimecast’s Global Go-To-Market Operations team, the Sales Operations Specialist will play an integral role in enabling Sales Directors, Sales Managers and Account Managers by providing data driven business insights and operational support.  Said simply, this role will align the Sales Operation Specialist with one of our Go-To-Market teams as the key sales operations resource for their assigned segment of the business.  The scope of the role would include providing consistent and timely reporting to the team and acting as a liaison for the team back to the larger Sales Operations function.


This is a high impact role, with quickly changing priorities and demands. The ideal candidate for this role will enjoy driving change in a business and seeing fast results. The successful candidate needs to be someone that is efficient, values accuracy and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get a job done. This candidate is also able to balance competing priorities while keeping the big picture in focus and shows ambition to grow both individually and as a part of a successful team.


The primary responsibilities include acting as a business partner for the Sales leaders and team and providing insights into the health of the business, the forecast, the pipeline, and various other KPIs.  The secondary responsibilities include assisting with fiscal year planning, quota/territory setting, and ad-hoc sales-driven analytics and reporting projects. Success in the position will be measured based on progress against defined quarterly goals.



Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with business partner, sales team, and other Mimecast Go-To-Market Teams
  • Assemble ad-hoc and canned reports to help sales leaders run their business
  • Assist Sales Reps and Sales Management to ensure timely forecast submissions and validate the accuracy of submission
  • Participate in team forecast and pipeline calls and general partnering with the business leader
  • Help plan and design for our new fiscal year and make recommendations for improvement with business leader
  • Performing additional ad-hoc projects upon request
  • Confident individual who enjoys challenges and overcoming them
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, etc.
  • Team-work orientation with strong analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • High attention to detail with multitasking a key requirement
  • Self-driven independent worker but equally enjoys a team environment where success is measured on both performance and results
  • Willing to go above-and-beyond to solve problems, meet deadlines especially at quarter end!
