Manager of Rental Assistance Programs

Are you passionate about social justice and helping underserved communities? Do you have an interest in housing services, program management, and leading a small team of dedicated staff? Do you want to show off your budget tracking capabilities and your Excel perfectionism? As the Manager of Rental Assistance Programs with AIDS Action Committee, you will be responsible for providing management oversight to the Rental Assistance Programs, strengthening financial support, and cultivating relationships with external organizations.  Your success in this position will ensure that AAC can continue to provide emergency assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS who are facing eviction, unaffordable housing, and high utility billsThe ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in human services, experience supervising staff, and experience overseeing grants and budgets.  Ready to join the team? Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 3 to 5 years social service experience with experience in housing, particularly rental assistance programs.
  • Strong administrative skills and the ability to pay close and accurate attention to detail.
  • Experience supervising staff required.
  • Experience in grant and budget oversight preferred.
  • Experience in human services or housing subsidy program administration preferred.
  • Experience advocating for beneficiaries with government assistance agencies, housing authorities, private landlords or realtors preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Strong computer skills required, especially Excel, and familiarity with database systems required.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task many responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment.
  • HIV/AIDS awareness and sensitivity.
