Young Adult Peer Mentor - DMH Flexible Support Services - Part Time #8742
Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Peer Mentor!
Peer Mentors provide specialized expertise based on sharing their own lived experience of mental health challenges with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in a youth who is struggling with similar concerns.
In this important role, the Peer Mentor provides strength-based, peer–to-peer education, coaching, modeling, guidance, and support to youth in a variety of settings, including home, school, community, group home, and other out-of-home settings.
The Peer Mentor will:
- guide youth through their treatment process providing outreach, peer support and advocacy, all in accordance to the client’s individual service plan
- help clients gain access to recovery resources and communities
- work in coordination with the clinical team while using his or her recovery experience as a positive model for clients’ process.
Schedule: 20 hours per week

Required Skills

Valid driver’s license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required
Required Experience
- High School Degree/GED required; Bachelors preferred
- One year experience working with target population required and has successfully completed the Core Elements of Young Adult Peer Mentoring Training or is enrolled/waitlisted with DMH approval
